A bear style that is perfect for baby clothes
Meet Betsy Bear! She has a lovely round muzzle, stuffed ears and curved arms and legs. I have designed this pattern to be perfect for displaying your favourite baby clothes.
Betsy bears are 34cm tall, 30cm wide and 22cm front to back.
I know sometimes it is hard to imagine what a keepsake will look like when made in other clothing so here are a couple of examples
This bear is made very simply from 2 items – a pair of jeans and a pretty printed fabric with butterflies on. She is one of my demo bears, sewn just for photos. Here are photos of her side and back. the arms and legs are stitched into position on this bear. I do have the option for you to have button jointed / moveable arms and legs made instead. More pics later
Betsy bear can be made from baby clothes. I will need 8-10 babygros or an equivalent amount of items. i can use almost any item of clothing to make your keepsake, from tshirts to dresses to bibs. Your keepsake is all about whatever holds the most memories for you. I can also use bibs, blankets and hats – so long as you lay out the clothing you would like used and check it is equivalent to 8-10 babygrosso I have enough fabric.
Betsy bear can also be made from the clothes of family and friends who have passed away. I adult tshirt will enough for one bear. you can use as many as 4 or even 6 items if you would like to. As with the baby clothes – your keepsake is about your memories. So whichever pieces of clothing hold the most memories. I cannot work with very thick fabrics like wool or leather coats sorry.
Betsy Bear in a Hat
This Betsy Bear was made for my customer Charlotte from her grand daughter’s clothes. It was particularly important to Charlotte that the hat was used so that the bear could wear it. So I tried the hat on all my demo bears and we decided Betsy was the best style of bear for this ultra cute aviator style hat.
Here she is…
This bear was made with moveable arms and legs. So she can be posed standing up…
And walking!! There are a few more photos of this Betsy bear on my Portfolio page, click HERE to see.
