I am not taking any new orders for keepsake bunnies. This post and its info is only for customers who have paid their deposit before Jan 2021.
First here are the stats to tell you their size
First up is this bright bunny. She is made from the baby clothes of Emmy Louise. Her outer legs are made from a brown corduroy dress, and her inner ears tone with them as they are a gorgeous funky patterned corduroy with some brown in the pattern. The dress that I used to make the inner ears had smocking on it. If you look by my thumb in this photo you can see the smocking.
The bunny’s foot pads are made from a dress that had a sequined net overskirt. I sewed the overskirt and underskirt together so the effect of the net on the satin background was preserved.

And her tail is so cool. The clothing included a dress with a ruffle so I used the ruffle to frame the tail…
This next bunny is a bereavement keepsake, she is made from cashmere shawls and cardigans. The side view of her shows how I used a textured scarf on the back of her ear. I do not make bereavement keepsakes any more. But I wanted to show you this one as it shows off the shape of the keepsake, and also how very simple clothing can look lovely.
This last bunny is one of my favourites. The predominantly white clothes look lovely together. The clothes included a turquoise babygro with beautiful birds and butterflies on which I carefully cut to show off the prettiest areas.
The back of the bunny shows her pink tail, and some beautiful hummingbirds from another babygro.
This last bunny has a front made from a linen dress. There were lovely embroidered houses, and scenes from nature on the dress, as seen in the bottom of the circled highlights below. The top circled highlight shows how I used the cute geese detail on the leg.
To make you a keepsake bunny from baby clothes I will need 8-10 babygros or an equivalent amount of clothing. I can work with any clothes from hats to cardis to dresses to socks and trousers. I say babygros as a guide to the quantity of fabric I need in order to make your keepsake.
When you send me your clothes let me know if any particular item is really important to you so I can try to place it in a position where as much of it as possible is on show.
Let me know what name and date of birth you would like on your bunny and I will embroider onto the ears.
One final word
Keepsake bunnies are created using the clothes that you send to me. They have button jointed moveable limbs and black plastic safety eyes. They also have matching buttons on the ears. They are filled with polyester toy stuffing. Keepsakes are not toys as they cannot be CE tested and often have large areas of handstitching.
