Memory bear pattern – meet Charlie bear
I have poured all my knowledge from years of keepsake making into the creation of this memory bear pattern. So this pattern mimics the look of button jointed bears, whilst being much faster to sew as the limbs are attached. The paw pads are nice and big so they not only look cute but have plenty of room to embroider names and dates on. And the ears have folds in them to add character.
Your completed memory bear will be 35cm (13 ¾”) tall from bottom to top of head and 30cm (12”) wide from side to side. If you would prefer to make your Charlie Bear button jointed the instructions and pattern pieces for this are included.
This pattern includes 5 pages of description, photos of some of the more complex steps and 4 pages of pattern pieces. I share all my tips and techniques to help you create a professional standard memory bear in the photo tutorial for this pattern. It includes a photo of every stage too. I have a Facebook group for makers of my patterns here. They are an ultra supportive community and you will find extra help to make your bear and they will love to see your completed bears too.

Notions for your Charlie memory bear pattern:
Fabric: If you are using this pattern to make a memory bear you will need 1 medium adult short sleeve t-shirt or an equivalent amount of clothing.
Or if you are using this pattern to make a furry teddy bear you will need 1/2 m of fur fabric, ¼m contrast fabric for the paw pads and inner ears. Please note your finished bear will look plumper than the ones pictured here as the fur will add bulk.
Interfacing: 1/2m woven cotton iron on interfacing. I use this one
Eyes: 15mm craft eyes / toy safety eyes
Nose: 2 square inches of wool felt
Smile: 20 inches of embroidery floss in a colour to match the nose felt
Toy stuffing and a plastic chopstick, or something similar that is long with a blunt end, to insert the stuffing
Tracing paper: 3 square inches to trace the smile template
Plus: pins, cotton thread that matches your fabric, hand sewing needles, scissors, and pinking shears if you have them
